Friday Nights Live comes to Old Westbourne!

Every Friday Night during the AFL season, the Club will be open to everyone to get together and socialise, whilst watching live AFL footy.  Friday Nights Live will be Launched on Friday 30th March upstairs in the Clubrooms starting 6.30pm.  It will be fantastic to see heaps of people there. Club Player Registration Day this Sunday Feb 12th

BBQ at Sleepy's this Sat & Sun - Volunteers Needed!

Calling all volunteers for a BBQ event down at Sleepy’s on Old Geelong Road this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.  This is a great opportunity to raise some funds for the Club and kickstart the new year.  We need people to help in 1 hour shifts to lighten the burden.  Can you spare an hour either on Saturday or Sunday?

Annual General Meeting Wed 26th Oct. 7pm

The Club will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 26th October, 2011. The venue will be Andrew Park Pavilion, starting 7pm.  All members are advised to come along and show their commitment to the Club by confirming and cementing their passion, drive and dedication for Old Westbourne.  Confirmed numbers on the Committee (and associated working groups and sub-committees) have been disappointing over the last few years, which has hampered our endeavours to move forward.  This is your chance to ease the burden on so few, and set the Club back on the right path.

Graeme Clark wins WRFL Unsung Hero Award!

Congratulations to Vice-Presidient and Junior Co-ordinator Graeme Clark on winning the 2011 Melbourne Injury Lawyers Unsung Hero Award.  Special thanks and congratulations from the Club, Committees and everyone around the Club who has worked with you and witnessed your great efforts and tireless dedication.  This award not only reinforces the acknowledement and respect of your Club, but also a greater recognition in the general WRFL football Community. U11s 2011 Premiers!!

Congratulations to the victorious U11s team on their fantastic victory over St Bernards in the Grand Final on August 28, 2011.  Well done to Coach Tony Costa on a fine effort and congratulations to all the players for the effort and the win, but also for your great behaviour throughout the finals series.  You are the pride of Old Westbourne!View this photo

Huge Sunday coming up! U14s and U11s in Grand Finals!

Yes, it's a huge Sunday coming up (28th August) with both our U11s (at 8.50am, oval 2/West) and our U14s (at 12.30pm, oval 2/West) participating in Grand Finals.  We encourage our entire Old Westbourne family to come along and offer support and encouragement for our champions of the future.  Make sure you arrive early (to get a good park).  Also, this is the final week of hosting finals for our Club this year and being Grand Final week, it's a great opportunity to show our hospitality and for the Club to raise some important funds.  Please also consider offering to volunteer on the day.  Just ring Graeme Clark (0414 984 702) to get allocated to a task, and added to the list.  It's free entry on the day for volunteers, so it's worth getting on the list.  Go Old Westbourne!!
